Chair of the Benghazi SubCommittee Trey Gowdy |
With the announcement that Presidential nominee Donald Trump will designate Congressman Trey Gowdy as his Attorney General, the attacks on Trump, Gowdy, and the Benghazi SubCommittee have begun in earnest by the White House, the Pentagon, and Hillary Clinton.
Now, we have presumed that Mr Gowdy would be the most logical choice for Attorney General since he has been fearless as the Chair of the Benghazi Subcommittee in pursuing his investigation of all parties involved, but most appropriately, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton based on her alliance with former Egyptian President Morsi, whose operatives attacked the US Consulate in Benghazi.
[we presume this since the Libyan Security Force protecting the Consulate leapt to the defense of the Consulate and, when they began firing on the assault force, the leader of the assault unit was caught on a Libyan security camera shouting in Arabic "Don't shoot! Morsi sent us!"].
The lead on this Administration's assault against Gowdy came from Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs, Stephen C. Hedger, who condemned Gowdy's Benghazi Committee for the "... crescendo of new requests for witnesses and information on an 'unrealistic timeline'."

Recall also that Secretary of Defense Panetta ordered US Commanders at the European Command, the African Command, and the Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean, all of whom attempted to respond immediately, to include one counter-terrorist ship parked just off the coast of Libya, were all ordered to "Stand Down"! The Commanders of the Sixth Fleet and AfriCom were relieved of their commands by order of Mr Panetta, acting on directions from the Oval Office.

AC-130 Gunship |
Mr Panetta's excuse for these orders was that it would have taken at least 16 hours to deploy a rescue force from the US -- but he did not explain why he ordered the AC-130 and the drone overhead already at Benghazi which were fully prepared to intercede on an immediate basis -- to Stand Down.
Finally, the question of the whereabouts of President Obama during this crisis has been clarified; it has been reported that he was in Las Vegas at the gambling tables, doubling down, and couldn't be bothered with this attack which took the lives of two former SEALs, the Ambassador's bodyguard, and, the Ambassador.
But, wait! There's more.
As the facts have trickled out, we have learned that GOP senators and congresspersons were aware of the Administration's plot behind Benghazi [i.e., to kidnap the Ambassador in order to exchange him for the Blind Sheik -- a scheme by Mr Obama to ingratiate himself with the Muslim Brotherhood.
So, Congressman Gowdy's letter responding to the Pentagon seems appropriate, given these horrendous facts surrounding Benghazi:
Your claim “…intentionally mischaracterizes both the nature of the Committee’s investigation and its interaction with the Department of Defense.
It is also riddled with factual inaccuracies, which not only does a disservice to the public but also does a disservice to the women and men who work for the Department of Defense.”
Gowdy closes his letter by advising:
Your staff is welcome to waste taxpayer dollars writing partisan, factually deficient letters to out Committee, coordinate the language with House Democrats, and then leak it to the media.
That is your prerogative.
It will not prevent this Committee from interviewing all witnesses who can help us write the final, definitive accounting of what happened before, during , and after the attacks that killed four Americans in Benghazi and injured others. It will just prolong the investigation. I have been encouraged by too many soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines across the country to allow letters from political appointees to stop us.

Hillary: What difference does it make! |
We will monitor this process very closely; our worst fear at this point is that the risk to so many ranking government officials will lead to a Breitbart moment for Mr Trump, much the same as the GOP attempted to assassinate Mr Reagan in order to install Mr Bush in 1981.
