Remember Our Old Vets!

Some of the Vets blocked from the WWII Memorial by our President during the Sequester

We'll share this story passed along to us; it’s interesting, sad, and enlightening.

Never forget that many of our older generation served honorably, bravely, and
deserve our respect.

As I came out of the supermarket that sunny day, pushing my cart of groceries towards my car, I saw an old man with the hood of his car up and a lady sitting inside the car, with the door open.

The old man was looking at the engine. I put my groceries away in my car, and continued to watch the old gentleman from about twenty five feet away.

I saw a young man in his early twenties with a grocery bag in his arm walking towards the old man. The old gentleman saw him coming too, and took a few steps towards him.
I saw the old gentleman point to his open hood and say something. The young man put his grocery bag into what looked like a brand new Cadillac Escalade. He then turned back to the old man. I heard him yell at the old gentleman saying:

'You shouldn't even be allowed to drive a car at your age.' And then with a wave of his hand, he got in his car and peeled rubber out of the parking lot.
I saw the old gentleman pull out his handkerchief, and mop his brow as he went back to his car and again looked at the engine.

He then went to his wife and spoke with her; he appeared to tell her it would be okay. I had seen enough, and I approached the old man. He saw me coming and stood straight, and as I got near him I said, 'Looks like you're having a problem.'
He smiled sheepishly, and quietly nodded his head. I looked under the hood myself, and knew that whatever the problem was, it was beyond me. Looking around, I saw a gas station up the road, and I told the old man that I would be right back. I drove to the station and went I inside. I saw three attendants working on cars. I approached one of them, and related the problem the old man had with his car. I offered to pay them if they could follow me back down and help him.

The old man had pushed the heavy car under the shade of a tree and appeared to be comforting his wife. When he saw us he straightened up and thanked me for my help. As the mechanics diagnosed the problem (overheated engine), I spoke with the old gentleman.

When I shook hands with him earlier, he had noticed my Marine Corps ring and had commented about it, telling me that he had been a Marine too. I nodded and asked the usual question, 'What outfit did you serve with?'
He said that he served with the first Marine Division at Guadalcanal Pelieliu, and  Okinawa  .

He had hit three of the worst ones, and retired from the Corps after the war was over. As we talked we heard the car engine come on and saw the mechanics lower the hood. They came over to us as the old man reached for his wallet, but was stopped by me. I told him I would just put the bill on my AAA card.
He still reached for the wallet and handed me a card that I assumed had his name and address on it, and I stuck it in my pocket. We all shook hands all around again, and I said my goodbye's to his wife.
I then told the two mechanics that I would follow them back up to the station. Once at the station, I told them that they had interrupted their own jobs to come along with me and help the old man. I said I wanted to pay for the help, but they refused to charge me.
One of them pulled out a card from his pocket, looking exactly like the card the old man had given to me. Both of the men told me then that they were Marine Corps Reserves. Once again we shook hands all around and as I was leaving, one of them told me I should look at the card the old man had given to me. I said I would and drove off.

For some reason I had gone about two blocks, when I pulled over and took the card out of my pocket and looked at it for a long, long time. The name of the old gentleman was on the card in golden leaf and under his name was written:'Congressional Medal of Honor Society.'

I sat there motionless, looking at the card and reading it over and over. I looked up from the card and smiled to no one but myself and marveled that on this day, four Marines had all come together because one of us needed help. He was an old man all right, but it felt good to have stood next to greatness and courage, and an honor to have been in his presence.
Remember on this Memorial Day,OLD men like him gave you, and all of us, FREEDOM for  America.

Thanks to those who served and still serve, and to all of those who supported them, and who continue to support them.

America is not at war.
The  US Military is at war.
America  is at the Mall.
Remember, Freedom is not Free!
Thousands have paid the price so that you can enjoy what you have today.

Russia Ends US Satellite Program

Mr Putin ends US Space Program

Click here for related story  []

Here's a surprise.

JimmyBob is watching you; Do you feel safer?

Russia has cut off the US access to its rocket engines which were to be used to launch Defense reconnaissance satellites.

To be clear, these launches tied to the NSA/NRO eavesdropping surveillance program not only on US citizens, but, by golly, on the Russians too.  Imagine that.

Earlier this month, we noted that Lockheed Martin and Boeing [via NPO Energomash] had been awarded a sole-source contract to sell rocket engines to the US Air Force [USAF] to launch US Military reconnaissance satellites into space - violating US trade embargo legislation against Russia for its invasion of Ukraine/Crimea.

No other US companies were allowed to bid; and Elon Musk [aka: Iron Man] sued in court
-- and won!

At that time, we warned against both sole source contracts [essentially illegal -- unless of course, we're dealing with one of the Big Five Defense Contractors] since they would eliminate open competition, cost savings, and, oh gosh -- that ancient concept called "business integrity", a term no longer in common usage in Defense contracting.

[Does anyone remember that JimmyBob Clapper used to head Raytheon, which now is routinely awarded major Intelligence and Defense Community contracts which are sole source?  You remember JimmyBob, our Director of National Intelligence -- the guy who blatantly perjured himself before Congress not long ago?]

But, we digress.

We also pointed out that, not only is Russia on our trade embargo list for invading Ukraine and Crimea
[that naughty Mr Putin keeps poking his finger into Mr obama's eye to see if he can find Mr obama's Red Line]
we also noted that it's NEVER a good idea to depend on an enemy, or even a Potential Adversary as our sole source supplier of Defense materiel systems.

Now, one would think this would be common sense, but, when our Director of National Intelligence is JimmyBob Clapper, who had very close ties to Raytheon, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin while he was in the private sector [who says government workers are underpaid], then the process changes somewhat, because if JimmyBob got any closer to those companies, he'd be accused of having a sexual relationship with them.

God help us!
Think of little JimmyBobs scampering all about Washington and through the halls of Boeing and Lockheed Martin, throwing tiny sole-million dollar source contracts over the transoms.
[Why, it would be almost as corrupt as the HHS contract system.]

But, we've digressed again, and we apologize for burdening you with such a perverted image.

Back to reality.
If we are to have an effective National Defense system, we certainly can't be awarding sole source contracts to our enemies so they can cut off our supplies just before a war begins.

Damned Czech Warranty just ran out!

The Russians figured this one out when the Eastern Bloc pulled away, and just as they were about to invade Czechoslovakia, and Hungary, and Poland, et al, they realized that their brand new tanks were falling apart, their new light artillery pieces were malfunctioning, and their Polish-built ships were leaking like sieves -- because they were built by the very Communist Satellite countries they were about to invade.

In the end, the USSR collapsed because of such stupid decisions;
i.e., don't award military sole source contracts to your potential adversaries.

Will Mr obama's USSA suffer the same fate?

Microsoft forced to support XP

XP keeps going, and going, and going ....
Click here for related story [Steve Ranger - ZDNet]

Microsoft [MS] has decided to once again "support" Windows XP -- the most popular, the most reliable, and the most used MS Operating System [OS] since Microsoft was founded.

Millions of XP users regarded it as perhaps the only Microsoft OS that ever functioned efficiently, and most users kept their old versions handy in the event the newer versions failed -- which occurred routinely [and still does with the latest MS OS version 8.1].

Subsequent OS versions all had major flaws that resulted in frequent crashes and reboots, and most were vulnerable to viruses, requiring almost daily patches and updates.

Thus, many users kept XP as their primary, or backup MS Operating System, foregoing the headaches of subsequent OS releases, all of which were not inexpensive.  According to NetMarketShare research, XP still accounts for 26% of the PCs connected to the Internet.  Windows 8 and 8.1 have a combined share of only 12%.

A few weeks ago, MS announced it would no longer support XP, since it was "too expensive" to support.
[Interpretation: Too many people were continuing to use XP and not buying the latest MS operating system.]

And, amazingly enough, "hackers" immediately attacked XP, crippling it, in turn, shutting down countless federal and state government sites which used XP to support their Internet Explorer apps.

And, then, Internet Explorer got hacked!
Good heavens!

Well, in reality, it had been hacked two years ago [September 2012 to be exact], but they only discovered the hack recently, meaning all that metadata has been flowing into hackers' databanks for at least two years.

Now, the implications for that hacking are pretty serious, since the federal government demanded that all job applications be processed ONLY via Internet Explorer, meaning that every, and we repeat EVERY federal job application, complete with applicants' full personal and professional history, to include social security numbers, and full security clearance data, had been HACKED, by "hackers unknown".

So, since the Internet Explorer browser was hacked, Microsoft, in a "decent and generous" gesture, decided to continue to support XP -- for just a bit longer -- and "patches" have now been issued, but ONLY because Microsoft is such a giving and loving company.
[Be still our beating heart, we're all aflutter over this generous outpouring of gratuitous support.]

NSA reads your email to
protect you from terrorism
A cynic might suggest the hackers were employed by the NSA -- which has always had a warm and fuzzy relationship with Microsoft, which could then deny Hoovering that information themselves, but merely accepted all that metadata from their contractor hackers.

[Re: Prism.  Between July - December 2012, Microsoft received up to 7,000 national security warrants, subpoenas and orders, affecting up to 32,000 consumer accounts]

But, but, but, why that's preposterous!
By Gawd!
If we can't trust our government, and particularly NSA and Microsoft, who CAN we trust!

But, we digress.

Shutting down federal government sites seemed to draw some fire from federal heavyweights, who were somewhat annoyed that such systems as federal payrolls, Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security were crashing.
So now, Microsoft has decided to "support" XP again, while it officially fixes the hacks on Internet Explorer.

[Some wags note that the federal government is the only "willing" user [because it's mandatory] of Internet Explorer, and the rest of the population avoids it as if it were the Honey Badger.]  It's notable, of course, that this situation became mandatory after Microsoft was suddenly no longer the target of an anti-trust suit for it's monopolistic practices [i.e., IE was an inseparable part of the Microsoft Operating System].

As luck would have it, Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser was hacked, so Microsoft, in a "decent and generous" gesture, decided to continue supporting XP -- for juuuusssst a bit longer.
Feel better now?

One Beelion Dollars!
Remind us again who the richest man in the world is, and which company ranks at the top of the profitability list?

Why, gosh, it's Bill Gates, who made his Beelions from selling Microsoft operating systems - each one worse than the previous one.

And it's "TOO EXPENSIVE" for Microsoft to maintain its most popular and efficient system?

Gimme a break!

DIA Chiefs Forced Out!

Editorial Comment: [08-14-20]
We wrote the commentary below based on limited information at the time, to include input from trusted CIA personnel whom we later learned were engaged in the Obama-Brennan-Clapper coup strategy - which needed to discredit Mike Flynn; Mike  knew too much, and suspected Sedition within the Intelligence Community.  We suspect Mike may have had some private discussions with Admiral Rogers over at NSA during this time frame.

In retrospect, adding in all the factors now revealed, we see this faux firing debacle as a means by CIA to take control of DIA, an inexplicable trend we saw beginning in 1989 under President GHW Bush, former Director of CIA, followed by discouraging subsequent events, to include 9/11 and the Patriot Act, which was created to eliminate the Bill of Rights

In fact, Deputy Director Shedd, an incompetent twit, was NOT fired, but remained in place as the new DIA Director, replacing Flynn, and inserting CIA flunkies into key DIA positions to ensure CIA control.

These machinations, though clear and obvious in hindsight, were vague and mysterious at the time since it was unimaginable that this whole process was part of a coup against the United States Government as an entity to eventually subvert the entire Intelligence and Law Enforcement process, and destroy the Constitutional structure.

Click here for related story [Reuters]

Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency [DIA], Lieutenant General [Army] Michael Flynn, and his Deputy, David Shedd, have both announced their retirements

Officially, Flynn is being forced out because
"... His vision in DIA was seen as disruptive; he's not a guy to take the agency foreword in a coordinated and comprehensive manner."

Peer criticism of Flynn was that his management style
" '... sowed chaos, setting aggressive plans for changes without adequate follow-through' within the agency."

Within DIA, the staff was in revolt because Flynn wanted to force the analysts and operators
"... up and out of their cubicles into the field to support war fighters or high-intensity operations."

All that criticism has merit, particularly since DIA is a headquarters staff organization, rather than one geared for combat.  It performs strategic analysis which requires time and considerable inter-agency coordination -- much of it informal face to face and off-the-record.

Operators in DIA would be either attaches or clandestine operatives, neither of whom are programmed for "combat" roles, although all will likely have served in combat previously.  In Washington, Intelligence officers act and dress like executives, complete with suit [dress uniform] and tie -- not combat fatigues with velcro tags hanging off.  Ultimately, Intelligence officers need to blend into the environment -- not stand out like a SWAT officer.

Flynn's concept of DIA operations is more suited to the managing the Army's Intelligence and Security Command [INSCOM] which provides brigades and groups in direct support of combat corps and theater operations.  All those units are ready to jump, per Flynn's "... up and out of their cubicles into the field to support war fighters and/or high intensity operations."  They're combat-ready from the git-go, they have combat experience, and they are fully in tune with the combat units they support.  When they need highly refined, precise, strategic intelligence on an actionable target, they communicate with DIA.  And, many of these INSCOM folks will eventually graduate to DIA positions.

Although Flynn was mentored by JimmyBob Clapper, he has not been well regarded at DIA, which is disappointing since he is a fairly smart guy and has a good track record.

We recommended him for the slot several years ago based on his experience, and the fact that he had actual military experience versus the faux experience which JimmyBob Clapper could claim.

[JimmyBob's singular claim to fame in the Intelligence Community is that he provided perjured testimony to Congress on NSA illegal activities -- and got away with it.]

Unfortunately, Flynn involved himself in the Clandestine Service
[once, erroneously, having laid claim to creating it].

Clandestine Ops do not include a SWAT assault!
In so doing, he confused Clandestine with Covert, and substituted Rangers and SEALs for espionage officers.

The result was any number of highly visible fiascos, the latest of which resulted in Ecuador declaring 20 DOD personnel Persona Non Grata and expelling them from the country - an international incident highly visible throughout the world, with the exception of the USA where it was a "Media non-incident".

Fortunately, this debacle did not make US Media coverage, but we, of course, are delighted to correct that oversight.

[We grieve, of course, since we constructed the DOD Clandestine Service in 1984, staffed with well -educated, highly experienced professionals skilled in language and area knowledge, and with in-depth support networks integrated into highly successful and virtually invisible operations.  Both the Senate and House Intelligence Committees were highly pleased with the intelligence acquired and the resulting production.

Sadly, under Clinton, the organization came under attack by then-DCI George Tenet who was convinced that only CIA could conduct clandestine operations; by the time it was recreated, the professionals had all been cashiered and replaced by unskilled place-holders who used the positions as Joint-Service ticket punches].

DD/DIA Shedd [Dingbat?]
As for Deputy Director Shedd, we know little of him, other than his appearance at a luncheon a few months back; his comments seem to have been scripted by the White House, and he came across as a total fop.   Others referred to him as a Nimrod or a Buffoon.

His intelligence career seems to have been as a place-holder and paper-shuffler with no record whatever of accomplishment, and he is/was a total embarrassment to the Intelligence Community.   He held a number of "place holder" positions in the National Intelligence structure, but was notable for his lack of accomplishment.

As a public speaker, he managed to lull a luncheon full of accomplished former Intelligence officers to sleep with a barrage of meaningless PowerPoint slides, establishing himself as perhaps the most disappointing speaker before that august group in its history.

We suspect, however, that there is far more to this firing of Flynn and Shedd than meets the eye.

It is highly unusual for the two top executives of an Intelligence organization to "retire" abruptly -- simultaneously.  The Ecuador fiasco likely played a role in this abrupt change, but would not explain the departure of two top Intelligence executives -- no matter how incompetent [after all, the worst and most incompetent DIA Director (Jimmy Williams) continues to hold that title virtually unchallenged].

Are they anticipating subpoenas from Congress over Benghazi?

Could they be concerned that the elections in November could put them at risk in an Impeachment process?

Or, did the Oval Office give them pink slips to replace them with two toadies who will follow orders to spy/report on US citizens, and on other military officers.  Will the role of DIA now become as an official investigating agency monitoring the loyalty [to the Oval Office] of our key DOD personnel?

And, will the resources of DIA now be suborned to the Department of Homeland Security as our Leader from Behind develops his police state prior to the November elections?

We predict the new Director and new Deputy Director will be either female, or "of color" in keeping with other key personnel at DHS, DOJ, etc.

Today, rumors include the following selectee:

LTG Legare
Lieutenant General Mary A Legare is currently serving as the Army Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence.

Her military career has been notable for an absence of significant accomplishment, and her advancement through the ranks appears to be based on both the fact that she is a token, asexual female and she makes no waves.

But, let's not forget that she supported and approved the $4 Billion software program called Distributed Common Ground System - Army [DCGS-A], which has an actual life-cycle cost of $28 Billion; the objective of DCGS-A was to disseminate actionable intelligence throughout the five military Services, but which has failed miserably.
[We provided a relatively simple software years earlier which accomplished this task at a fraction of the cost of DCGS-A] - but it was rejected.

Legare suppressed and rejected an excellent, easy to use Intelligence software and instead, promoted DCGS-A, which was rated as unusable and unreliable; and, which combat commanders and Intelligence officers condemned as it cost lives due to its problems of use.

But, she was likely selected in spite of her history as a pawn of Defense contractors and lack of sensitivity to the needs of combat troops.

California Republican Representative Duncan Hunter, a former Marine who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, sits on the House Armed Services Committee and condemned Legare's nomination; likely because she played a pivotal role in the political assault on Lt Colonel Jason Amerine, the Special Forces officer charged with negotiating the release of Bowe Bergdahl, the infamous deserter whose actions cost the lives of his comrades who thought he'd been captured.

Amerine came under direct assault by President Obama because Amerine discussed the appalling details of the Bergdahl case with Hunter -- who then inquired why five Taliban terrorists were exchanged for Bergdahl, leaving behind five other US hostages.  Amerine was arrested by the Army CID [Criminal Investigation Division] on the grounds that he had violated National Security by speaking with Representative Hunter -- in private.  Obama's [and Legare's] targeting and persecution of Amerine caused him to lose pay and promotion, and forced him out of the Army.

In the end game, we expect she'll take direction well from the Oval Office with orders to spy on her fellow military officers who choose to not obey Administration orders to "fire on civilians".

As for Flynn, with his myriad of faults, we suspect he rebelled against this litmus test, i.e., determining if selectees for Military leadership will obey orders to fire on civilians -- which may be the real reason for his firing.

Court backs Musk Against USAF for Ignoring Russian Sanctions

US SPACE PROGRAM: Sole Source Contract to Russia

Click here for related story [Reuters]

Is Iron Man taking on the US Air Force for their corrupt practices?

A US Court of Federal Claims has issued an injunction prohibiting a joint venture between Lockheed Martin and Boeing from proceeding with plans to buy Russian-made rocket engines to send US Air Force satellites into space.

This ties to a SOLE SOURCE multi-billion dollar award for 36 Russian boosters to United Launch Alliance whose contract with the USAF partnership with NPO Energomash, a Russian government owned company which manufactures liquid propellant rocket engines.

SOLE SOURCE? to a Russian Government owned company?
WTF happened to competitive bidding -- including US companies!

Last we checked, the US had economic sanctions against Russia.
Last we checked, US companies, such as SpaceX, manufacture engines and rockets to launch [successfully] satellites.

Although LM and Boeing are great contributors to US politicians, we're hoping that some of them will recoil against these companies which dominate our Defense process -- and budget.

Time to drag in the Secretary of the Air Force to explain WHY we are buying rocket engines from Russia while proclaiming economic sanctions against Russia and sending our troops [two battalions] to protect Poland and Ukraine.

Iron Man vs DOD?
Elon Musk, founder of Tesla Motors is CEO of SpaceX; he was the founder of PayPal, Zip2, and the inventor of Hyperloop [a high speed transportation system].

He is reportedly the role model for Tony Stark {Iron Man}.

Musk has very deep pockets and will enjoy this battle against DOD favorites which pretty much dominate the entire Defense industry.

It appears the Washington Post is defending the USAF, Lockheed Martin, and Boeing in this process
-- perhaps because they are major advertisers.

Following this court decision against the USAF - Lockheed Martin - Boeing cabal, the Pentagon had the gall to announce that it can't replace the Russian rocket engines -- and thus cannot launch military satellites [implying that national security is at risk!].

Russian Assault on Ukraine  [NDU]
So, we are to interpret from this announcement that US national defense depends almost entirely on Russian products -- although, at the moment, Russia has become our potential adversary against whom we may soon go to war over their invasion of Ukraine/Crimea.

Notably, we have launched two Army battalions to Poland, and, it would appear, Mr obama is intent on creating a war with Russia, perhaps to be a "war-time President" to avoid the heat he is under now due to Benghazi revelations.

Now, in normal times, if such an incongruous event we're to occur, the Secretary of the Air Force and the USAF Chief of Staff would both be fired, along with the heads of USAF and DOD procurement
[actually, they would all be arrested and tried for fraud].

We can only assume that, once again, Mr 0bama and his cronies are involved in this sleazy deal which adds to the evisceration of the Military and makes the US vulnerable to our enemies. Now, to demonstrate that the US is NOT solely dependent on Russia for rocket engines, Evon Musk [CEO of SpaceX] launched his reusable rocket system to an altitude of 1,000 meters, and then precisely returned it via a soft landing to its launch pad -- ready for a new launch.

[Click here for YouTube Video of SpaceX launch]

"This is not SpaceX protesting and saying these launches should be awarded to us.  We're just saying these launches should be competed.  If we compete and lose, that's fine.  But why would they not even compete it?  That doesn't make any sense."

Musk's SpaceX successfully launched its rocket carrying a load for the Space Station.
